About Me

From a young age, my mother said I had “the gift of gab.” She nicknamed me magpie because I never stopped talking! Due to my caring nature, she always thought I’d be a nurse. However, my love for communicating with individuals brought me to the realization that in my career, I could have the best of both worlds by utilizing my communication skills to assist others with theirs.

I founded Little Magpies Speech Therapy as a privately owned Speech and Language practice in 2016 because of my own personal experience of having a child with developmental speech and language deficits.

Drawing from this, I wanted to provide both parents and their children with a caring and nurturing therapist who offers both compassion and innovative treatments to children struggling with speech and language deficits of varying degrees of diagnosis.

After receiving my Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology at The Richard Stockton College of NJ and my Master of Science, in Speech and Language Pathology at Audiology and Nova Southeastern University, I began working as a speech therapist for a local school district.

I have over fourteen years of experience working with children who have speech and language challenges.

Miss Mel has been helping my son for just about four months, and everyone has noticed a huge improvement with his speech! Miss Mel is also very patient and excellent at working with young patients!
